I would like to take the opportunity to thank those who used their right to vote, and came out and did so. This is YOUR club, and you do have a say in it. To those who placed their faith in me, and gave me your vote, thank you.
The new president, Bob Perks, has offered his executive helpful guidelines to which we are to follow. My duty will be to go back to the original means of reporting on behalf of the chair people holding such jobs as sports, entertainment etc. So I will ask those of you with such a report to get it to me on or before Thursday December 9th, the first executive meeting. The reports as given to me will be read out both at the exeutive and general meetings. They can be left behind the bar with my name on it.
My first "sad" report, many of you already know, the Ladies Auxiliary after many years of service to the club, have found it nessary to fold. Hopefully they will join the club, as they will be missed.
The sports chairman, Bill (the dart guy) Holroyd, is putting a lot of effort into the grey cup game this Sunday. November 28th. Always a good time, lots of fun, and food, food, food. It's a cost of only five dollars per person, and the price has never changed in years. Lucky draw boards are being filled, get your name down a few times. As the game will be late, the club will be open late. Not sure who is making the chlli this year, but you can bet it will be good.
Our sometimes short order cook, sometimes chef, Rod Ayre is planning another Navy Club Christmas Dinner, with all the trimmings. It will be held on the upper deck, Saturday December 18th, the bar will open at two p.m. and dinner at four p.m.
Come out and bring your friends.
Thanks everyone, Florence.
